Eligibility for Enrolling

STARTING YOUR ENROLMENT

Find out what you need to begin your course

Marr Mooditj Training provides face-to-face vocational training at its Waterford campus, with professional experience placements in external health care settings across Western Australia.

Entry requirements vary by course. Before you enrol, we will provide information about your chosen course, including its prerequisites, training dates, fees and any mandatory work placement. Our Enrolment team will then speak with you about your application and any support you may need.

WHAT WE DISCUSS WITH APPLICANTS

After you submit an application, Marr Mooditj Training will contact you to discuss:

NOT SURE WHAT TO PROVIDE?

Marr Mooditj Training is committed to training Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. If you are unsure what evidence to provide, speak with our Enrolment team before submitting your application.

COURSE-SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Some qualifications require additional evidence or previous experience.

HLT54121 DIPLOMA OF NURSING

The Student Handbook lists literacy, language and numeracy requirements for this course, including Exit Level 3 in an ACER assessment. It also sets out Year 12 schooling requirements, including maths and science, and an alternative schooling pathway where a Western Australian Certificate of Education has not been obtained.

Nursing applicants should discuss their education history with the Enrolment team so the relevant requirements and supporting documents can be confirmed. A fitness-to-work assessment may also be required where applicable.

CHC51015 DIPLOMA OF COUNSELLING

The handbook lists two pathways for this course. Applicants need either:

For other courses, check the course information and speak with the Enrolment team about any prerequisites that apply.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOUR APPLICATION

A UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER

You need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) for vocational education and training. Provide your USI with your application. If you do not have one, Marr Mooditj Training can help you create it.

INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR SUPPORT NEEDS

Tell us if a disability, health condition or learning need may affect your training or assessment. Student Services can meet with you to discuss your circumstances and the support available. Language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills support is also available.

EVIDENCE FOR WORK PLACEMENT

Courses with professional experience placements have additional requirements. The handbook states that students must provide a Working with Children Check and a current police clearance to attend their placements. Placement providers may also require health, immunisation or fitness-to-work documentation.

Our team will explain what applies to your course and placement. A placement requirement is not necessarily something every applicant must complete before submitting an initial enrolment application.

FEES, CONCESSIONS AND TRAVEL ASSISTANCE

CONCESSION RATES

Eligibility for a concession rate is assessed when you enrol. If you hold a relevant concession card or receive an eligible payment, let the Enrolment team know and provide the requested evidence.

AWAY FROM BASE SUPPORT

Eligible country students studying an approved course may also qualify for Away From Base support to assist with approved travel, accommodation and meals. This has separate requirements, including evidence of ABSTUDY entitlement. Speak with us before making travel arrangements.

HOW TO APPLY

You can apply online or visit Marr Mooditj Training’s front desk in person. Once we receive your application, our Enrolment team will contact you to discuss the next steps.

You will also be expected to attend an Information Day. This is an opportunity to meet staff, learn more about training and assessment, understand campus requirements and discuss the support you may need.

UNSURE IF YOU’RE ELIGIBLE?

If you are unsure whether you meet a course requirement, please contact us. We can help you understand the evidence required before you proceed with your application.
